Tokusatsu in Review: Kamen Rider Ryuki Part 1

The First rider war? More like a Writer war, as Shinta explores the Third Heisei Rider series, and the only collaborative story to date between Toshiki Inoue and the infamous Yasuko Kobayashi.
…It didn’t turn out well.

  1. Yes! Finally Ryuki! To me, I do like some of the concept of the series, like having a hero who broke the rules to do the right thing and the cards....somewhat, but the execution for the most part is really awful, particularly our so called "hero" Shinji, I also think Madoka is a better 'hero" than Shinji only because of how fast she learns about the whole situation and how she ultimately thinks is a better solution.

I think for Knight's finisher, you should call it "The Goddamn Batman Rider Drill Kick that Pierce Through Your Spine"!

Also, I am still waiting for you using the Highlander theme at some point.

    1. Yeah, you're not wrong. Shinji Never really ends up doing the right thing, despite (or because of) this show's protagonist-centered morality.
But you'll see more of my case against Shinji with next week's video and his interactions with Kitaoka.

To be fair, that joke ran a bit long as it was.

And you'll have to keep waiting. There's only one Highlander referential joke in here, and it's not one you would expect.
      Spoilers: it's from Highlander 2.

  2. I personally think Ryuki is mediocre at best.

Though I think Ouja's design looks OK.
