I actually agree you on Gen Urobuchi revitalizing the Kamen Rider franchise. Kamen Rider to me is always evolving every year, even the bad ones. The Precure franchise like you said, is going stale. While there are different stories every year, but the execution and the concept are still the same.
This is why I wish Gen Urobuchi to do a Precure series without the interference of Toei higher ups, because he knows how to do a good story. I heard many Precure fans don't want that because apparently they hate Madoka Magica for being grimdark. But that is not the point, the point is like Gaim, maturity. I don't want the Precure franchise to be grimdark (but that would be awesome) but to be mature.
I don't want girls to do girly stuff because they are girls, but what they are and I don't want them to be heroes not because they are "chosen", but because they want to do them despite the consequences. And that's the thing about the current series, there is little to no consequences for being a Precure. When you lose, either the villains would just go away or the worst case scenario, trapped you into a mirror coffin for eternity. That's right, there is no deaths in this series.... at all.
The Precure franchise has been going on for a decade, and when I first watched them I actually enjoyed them. But that is not the case for the current series, and I hope that Toei should just focus on a larger audience rather than just for little girls. I mean MLP:FIM worked, so why not them.
